Preparation

In this section, we will perform two main steps to prepare the environment: creating an S3 bucket and enabling Macie.

Create S3 bucket: Creating an S3 bucket is necessary so we have a centralized data storage location. In this lab, the bucket will be used to contain sample data files with sensitive information, which serves as input data for Macie to scan and analyze.
Enable Macie: This is a mandatory step for the service to start working on your AWS account. After being enabled, Macie will have permission to gather information about existing S3 buckets and be ready to create jobs for finding sensitive data.
